'A public official who goes out of his way to do what to some is funny or a public official who is frequently absent during major calamities and events; missing in action, skipping international schedules and local events for a power nap?


Duterte mocks Mar Roxas using an old video in 2009, "should have been a traffic aide," Roxas' camp says it's service

"Oy Roxas, if that is the only thing that you are capable of doing, you should have worked as a traffic aide instead," he added.

The President made the comment during a speech during the distribution of Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) in Sagay, Negros Occidental.

Duterte was referring to an old video of Roxas that showed him managing the traffic in Commonwealth Avenue caused by former President Gloria Arroyo's last State of the Nation Address in 2009.

In hindsight, how many times did Duterte skip international meetings and local events? Or showing up late for hours in an event, where the audience had to contend themselves wondering if ever he will come at all.

Or gone for days, not seen for days without warning...and the usual lame excuse is, either he has a more important matter to attend to or just taking a rest.

Apparently he is not fond of commemorating our heroes, like Rizal or Bonifacio...always a no show.

When did it become a laughing matter to see a dedicated official manning the traffic whose only intention is to help the public in his own little way?

Which would you rather have, "a man committed to public service, or a man committed to his bed?"
