SHOTGUN TACTIC?

NBI Cybercrime Division filed a complaint against Rodel Jayme, the alleged uploader of Bikoy's video. 

Jayme was charged with “Inciting to Sedition” in relation to Section 6 of Republic Act 10175 or the

Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 before an inquest prosecutor.

"Status posts and the likes are now considered as ‘electronic speech’ or speech done electronically. The internet, or Social Media to be précised [sic], is platform designed to reach audience on worldwide level,” the NBI said in its complaint.

“Seditious words or speeches, write, publish, or circulate scurrilous libels, can now be done electronically (Social media and Blog web pages) and being online it now caters to a larger and wider audience,” it also said.

This is the interesting part, the NBI did not file a cycberlibel complaint against Jayme despite its claim that there was a certain Teresa Ranola who filed a complaint on April 26 saying that “she was named and maliciously imputed as part of a Quadrangle Group who was involved in the illegal drug trade.”

NBI agents served a search warrant on Jayme early Tuesday morning and he was subsequently arrested.

Here comes the clincher, NBI noted in its complaint that the “Ang Totoong Narcolist” video was posted by different social media sites, “having the front runners to wit:”

Pinoy Ako Blog, Change Scamming, Metro Balita, Madam Claudia,and What the FACT blog

Hmm...“Continuous efforts were conducted to uncover personalities behind these accounts. Recently, crucial information on METRO BALITA were gathered. Hence, emphasis and focus were made,” the complaint further read.

And here is the juicy part, the NBI said that it recovered Jayme’s email and Facebook conversations with a certain “Maru Nguyen” and “Maru Xie,” whom they said are the same person.

“Based on the retrieved conversations, there is continuity of their efforts to conduct their scurrilous libellous attacks against the government. The (private) conversations revealed that these attacks are planned and with backing from certain personalities.”

Hmm...'certain personalities.'

Maru Xie is no secret and a known supporter of the Liberal party since 2015 during the last election. Hence, by choice she must be an Otso Diretso supporter. 

Therefore, it will not be a surprise that she can be seen in some of the gatherings together with other Otso Diretso supporters; including some candidates who either will grace the occasion or during the campaign will graciously allow a picture or a selfie, which is a common practice or occurrence. 

So by expanding the charges against the uploader (Rodel Jayme), and the NBI is now using his associates or acquaintance/s, the NBI and DOJ furthered the investigation; they were able to widen the area of coverage, and that may include some Otso Diretso supporters, candidates, or anybody who is in the circle like the Magdalo.

Thus the initial list of 'frontrunners' known Duterte critic - bloggers and page/groups; including a certain 'Filmore' an alleged Magdalo member, as mentioned in the charge sheet having direct communication to Maru Xie.

Notice also the sudden surge of photos of Maru Xie being circulated online by pro Duterte bloggers and groups, together with some known supporters or pro Liberal party and Otso Diretso candidates.
